VILLAGE OF CLYMAN

REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETING

September 24, 2018 – 6:00 PM

 

The regular monthly Board meeting was called to order by President Marty Pint at 6:00PM with Trustees Beth Baehmann, Jackie Tollefson and Amanda Swanson present.  Also present was Ordinance Office Kelly Cotter and a number of citizens were in attendance.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Citizen Comment

  •  Sheriff Dale Schmidt spoke about the issues at the Hardware store, and that the Sheriff’s office will continue to work with the Village and the Village attorney in regards to the issues.
  • Laurel Finger brought up  several items,  disturbances at the meetings, cats loose and running around the  Village,  the budget for the park, the appearance of the Village with properties not being properly maintained, and using and following State Statues to address what’s going on in the community.
  • Tracy Scheffler asked about the Demerit Point system.
  • Father Michael Erwin spoke about who will be enforcing the demerit ordinance once it is in place.
  • Julie Plumitis brought up the abilities of enforcing ordinances.
  • Cindy Roberts asked if anything could be done about the recent issues that happened   at the Hardware store since no demerit system is in place.
  • Kathy Vergenz asked if the settlement agreement could be used with the recent issues that happened at the Hardware store. She also brought up budgeting money for  a new building at the park
  • Beth had a call from a citizen about properties not being maintained and trees that needed to be trimmed.

The meeting agenda was posted at the Post Office, The Village of Clyman website, the Clyman Village Hall, and the Clyman Lion’s Hall.

Ordinance Officer Report – Report was previously provided to the board for review. Kelly went over the report with the Board.

Kelly also advised the Board that she spoke with the Village Attorney Katherine Koepsell in regards to issuing citations.  Katherine has some options she will need to discuss with the Board.

Minutes- Minutes from the previous meeting had been provided to the Board members.  Motion byBeth/Jackie to approve the minutes from the August 27, 2018 regular monthly Board as presented.  Motion carried.

Fire Department Report- There was no questions on the Fire Department reports.

Superintendent Report;

  1. Village Truck–The truck will go in September 26 to get the plow back on.  
  2. Water main breaks - There have been 4 water main breaks this year. Two at the park, one on First St and one on North St.

Audit – Discussion followed on audits. We can’t change anything at this point we still need to do a yearly audit this year.  We will put this back on the agenda in a couple of months to decide what we want to do for next year.

Board Vacancy- A motion by Beth/Amanda to accept Mike Zwieg as a new trustee to fill the vacant positions.  Motion Carried.

Delinquent utility account Report- The report was previously provided to the Board there were no questions on the report.

Personnel Hours - Report was previously provided to the board, there were no questions on the report.

Budget Report – A new report was provided to the board, it will give the Board a better idea of where we are YTD and what we’ve already spent.  It is not 100% but it is coming along.  There were no questions about the report

 Payment of Bills and unpaid invoices- Motion by Beth/Jackie to pay the bills. Motion carried

Next Meeting –October 29, 2018 at 6:00pm.

Motion by Beth/Amanda to adjourn.  Motion carried
